Olivia Rodrigo Fairfax Concert reviews
The man has a sense of humor!
"It's easy to forget in the EXCELLENT road band that Olivia Rodrigo is a brilliant performer as well - and one with his incredible portfolio of syrupy songs! But the combination of her really excellent, semi-self-deprecating sense of humor, her technical brilliance on the sax, and a road band that is as tight as any group I've ever seen or heard made for a very different evening than I expected. Yes, she played her hits. And a few other things. I like her music NOT song after song after song, a song at a time, once a day or so. But the staging was simple, clean, and incredibly effective; the sound was better than I have ever heard in that particular building (still no idea how the sound guy got THAT to happen - it's a danged BARN!) and starting and ending the concert with Olivia out IN the audience worked extremely well."
